Maxwell Springs Subdivision, Underground Utility Construction, Greenwood, SC

When the comprehensive master plan was completed for Maxwell Springs, the design team at Palmetto Resources selected Chandler Construction Services, Inc. to transform historic farmland into the newest traditional neighborhood development in Greenwood, SC.  Open public spaces were carefully planned, road right-of-ways were designed to compliment the natural topography, and underground utilities were installed to preserve picturesque woodland.

Immediately in the initial clearing phase of the project, Chandler's crews and subcontractors played an important role in recognizing the vision of the neighborhood founders.  Clearing limits were minimal, select trees were protected, and standard construction techniques were modified to preserve the natural landscape.

Construction challenges increased when underground utility installation began.  The gravity sewer system involved moderate cuts in tight spaces. Domestic water had to accommodate meticulously-placed lot lines and roadbeds.  By the time the first phase of infrastructure improvements were completed, the traditional neighborhood concept envisioned by the design team was partially realized through the experience, ingenuity and patience exhibited by Chandler Construction Services, Inc.
